With the highly competitive holiday season fast approaching Chatbooks wanted to create a series of unique cinemagraphs, videos and photos to highlight their new and existing products. We tested some ideas and developed an approach to combine live action shots of beautiful, real family moments with a seamless visual effect. The result: succinct, relatable stories that helped Chatbooks exceed their annual sales goals.
The scenes for this project had to be super detailed and precise. So, we looped in Underbelly illustrator extraordinaire, Brad Edwards, to draw storyboards that communicated to Chatbooks how we planned to approach framing, composition, and how the visual effect would work. This helped us collaborate with their team on a clear vision for the primary family cinemagraphs.
